Just recently, OPPO unveiled the Reno3 & Reno3 Pro in China and India. Judging from the way the Reno2 series was launched; Nigerians should be ready to receive the Reno3 & Reno3 Pro over the next few weeks. Although the 5G variant was debuted in China, Nigeria currently doesn’t have commercial 5G capacities, it is predicted that OPPO Nigeria will be launching the 4G variants of the Reno3 and Reno3 Pro.
Based on the current reviews we can see from India, the Reno3 and Reno3 Pro boast of superb cameras for experts. We definitely saw a lot of hardware-level changes on what was launched in China and for the first time in the history of smartphones, a single smartphone will be packing a dual punch-hole 44-Megapixel Selfie Camera, unlike the single-camera version that was launched in China.
The differentiating factor for the Reno3 Pro is its dual punch hole selfie camera. It packs a dual punch-hole front camera made up of a 44MP selfie camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The front camera supports Ultra Night Mode and even a video bokeh that comes with the front and rear cameras altogether.
In terms of the rear cameras, it appears the quad-camera setup comprises of 64MP main sensor, 13MP telephone, 2MP mono, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle. The rear camera also supports 5x hybrid zoom and 20x digital zoom.
The Reno3 Pro in China also comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC. It is unclear whether the 4G versions to be launched in Nigeria would include a different chip to cater to our 4G-only connectivity here in Nigeria.
For the battery, we do hope the 4,025 mAh battery is retained and of course, the VOOC Flash Charge system that boosts charging from 0%-50% in just 20 minutes. RAM is predicted to be 8GB or 12GB or both and storage may be 128GB or 256GB or both.
It is also rumoured that there could be a pocket-friendly variant in the form of the Reno3, which will be a cheaper version of the Reno3 Pro but will still pack those key specs that make the Reno3 Pro an absolute beast. The major differentiating factor for the Reno3 will be the OLED waterdrop 44MP Ultra Night Selfie Camera, 48MP Quad Camera that supports 5x Hybrid Zoom capabilities, 5V41 VOOC 3.0 Charging System and the general phone design and colors.
