The battle of the best in smartphone photography has a new entry. It is the new Honor Magic 5 Pro now and it sits at the top of the list. This device just launched at the MWC23 and immediately became the belle of the ball.
Honor is a spin-off of Huawei, a top contender in the world of smartphone photography. So it is only natural for the spin-off to follow in the steps of its forerunner, Huawei in this case.
Last year, with the launch of the Magic 4 Ultimate, Honor took the top spot on the DXOMark camera ranking from its parent company. Later that year, Huawei was able to reclaim its photography title with the launch of the flagship Mate 50 Pro device. Now however, Honor has reclaimed the top spot from Huawei once again.
The Honor Magic 5 Pro comes with a triple rear camera system housing 50MP wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto camera lenses. This camera setup pairs with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and 12GB worth of RAM to ensure top-notch photo processing abilities.
The Magic 5 Pro displaces the Huawei Mate 50 Pro by scoring 152 points on the DXOMark camera ranking. This is three points above its parent company’s Mate 50 Pro flagship smartphone.
Photography is not this device’s only selling point, as it packs a ton of flagship features and an impressive display.
Asides from topping the DXOMark camera ranking, this device from Honor also tops the display ranking. To do this, it displaces the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max by scoring 151 on the ranking. This is two points above the display capability of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.
