It is no news that Microsoft has stopped the support for Windows XP, its 13 years old operating system but it is so surprising to find out that Apple’s testing system still operates and depends largely on the an old operating system owned by an arch rival, Microsoft.
The news about iPhone 6 plus bending in users pocket has been making headlines all over since the beginning of the week, also accompanied by videos on youtube showing the iPhone 6 Plus being subjected to rigorous test. See video below:
This bendgate saga has generated mixed reactions about Apple testing the phones before releasing them into the market. In response, Apple invited CNBC into its iPhone testing facility to convince that it really test the iPhone 6. Apple told CNBC that it test the iPhones 15,000 times before releasing it to customers.
It is no doubt that Apple uses state-of-the-art equipment for testing the endurance and durability of its products but what was suprising was the picture tweeted by CNBC showing the results of the test being recorded on a system running on Windows XP.
This isn’t the first time Apple has been caught in this kind of ‘mess’, sometimes in June, Tim Cook accidentally tweeted a picture that revealed a computer running Windows in the company’s factory during an inspection of the American factory.
