Google Messages emoji reaction finally rolls out to users

In a bid to better compete with other messaging platforms the Google Messages emoji reaction feature is rolling out for RCS users.

Google Messages emoji reaction is finally available and making its way to users. This feature will help take the RCS messaging platform a step higher when it comes to its usage. The new emoji reaction feature is Google’s effort in improving its messaging platform to attract more users.

Popular messaging platforms like WhatsApp and RCS’s main competition iMessage offer emoji reactions. This feature enables users to react to messages with an emoji, and the sender gets to see their reaction.

A few months ago, Google Messages started showing emoji reactions sent from iOS devices. This was in a bid to bridge the messaging barrier that Apple’s iMessage platform brought.

Google is still trying to make Apple allow cross-messaging between iOS and Android devices. Currently, if you have an iPhone, you aren’t able to chat with your friends using Android via iMessage. Also, if your friends using Android chat with you via Google Messages, their chats get green bubbles.

To use this feature on Google Messages, simply hold down on the chat you wish to react to. An emoji library will pop up and you can pick any emoji reaction that suits the chat. If you use reactions on WhatsApp, this works the exact same way.

Android users can use RCS much like iPhone users use iMessage; free and only requires internet and the same kind of device. Will the new Google Messages emoji reaction feature entice you to use the RCS platform to chat with friends more often?
