Get familiar with the photo features coming to iPhone on iOS 17

While iOS17 is still in beta, we take a closer look at what’s in store for iPhone users in the photography department.

Apple is set to transform the way we interact with photos on our iPhones with the upcoming release of iOS 17. The tech giant has announced exciting new photo features that promise to enhance our creative expression and visual experiences. Let’s take a closer look at what’s in store for iPhone users.

Exploring the world around you with Visual Look Up

Visual Look Up takes photo recognition capabilities to the next level. Users can now discover more from their photos and videos, making it easier to gather information on various subjects. For food enthusiasts, the feature allows for finding recipes of similar dishes just by capturing an appetizing photo.

“When you lift a subject from a photo, you can look up information about it right from the callout menu,” Apple stated.

This feature isn’t limited to just photos; it extends to videos as well. With Visual Look Up in videos, users can identify plants, animals, landmarks, and more. By pausing the video on any frame, tapping, and holding on to the subject, the option to Look Up will instantly provide a mine of information.

Your photos, your way with Live Stickers

In iOS 17, users will be able to bring their photos to life like never before with the Live Stickers feature. By simply touching and holding an object in a photo, it can be turned into a customizable sticker. Users can experiment with various effects like Shiny, Puffy, Comic, and Outline, adding a touch of personal flair to their images. Even animated Live Stickers can be created by using Live Photos.

Including our furry friends with People Album

Apple understands the importance of remembering the important people in our lives. The face recognition algorithm is now better at identifying our favorite faces. It also acknowledges the crucial role of pets and can recognize our cats and dogs.
