Foldable monitors steadily rising to becoming the next technology wave!

First foldable smartphones, now we are stepping into an era of foldable monitors as we welcome two new players into the growing industry.

Foldable phones have become increasingly popular as more brands move into the industry, but foldable monitors are still developing. A few years ago, Lenovo took a big leap by manufacturing its first folding monitor. That monitor, the ThinkPad X1 Fold, helped to spark a flame that would very slowly engulf the world of technology as we know it today.

Not resting on its oars, Lenovo has now launched the next generation of their foldable monitor, the ThinkPad X1 Fold Gen 2, an upgrade from the ThinkPad X1 Fold. Yet, Lenovo is not the only one to launch a foldable monitor this year, as they did a few years ago!

ASUS joins Lenovo in the foldable monitor industry as a new competitor

ASUS is also taking the bull by its horn with their first-ever folding screen monitor. The ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold is competing with the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold Gen 2 for the crown of the foldable monitor market. This proves that there is room for the steady growth of folding monitors.

Both monitors have a folding screen that measures 17-inches for the Zenbook 17 Fold and 16.3-inches for the ThinkPad X1 Fold. When folded, each monitor becomes a 12-inch laptop. They are both stylish and come with good processors for handling daunting tasks easily.

Foldable monitors; productive or fashionable?

But, is a foldable monitor really necessary for work or media consumption. Some may argue that it is a thing of style or class, but is that the case? After critical evaluation, we can say that foldable monitors carry off from where laptops stop.

These folding monitors are bringing an end to the era where we had to get to our working stations before we could use our monitors. It creates a more flexible workspace, giving users the ability to fold up their monitors and easily move them about. We expect more manufacturers to explore this foldable field, bringing more products to the growing community and giving buyers wider options.
