The Social Media Awards Africa (initiative) was established by national commercial bank, Sterling Bank in conjunction with Development Diaries Ltd/GTE in 2014 as a platform to recognize, celebrate and reward excellence, creativity and to support the positive impact of social media across Africa.
No doubt, social media has revolutionized itself into being not just the easiest way to get schooled on worldwide trends, but also a means of harnessing the creativity of a lot of Africans. As is very evident, the social media space is a growing platform, attracting lots of attention across communities and has become focus of many with diverse interests. This has ignited the interest of Sterling Bank whose core is focused on enriching lives of every stakeholder to partner with Development Diaries Ltd/GTE in launching The Social Media Awards Africa (SMAA) initiative.
