UX Masterclass organised by Usable, supported by GDG to hold in two weeks

Since 2014, Google has been holding UX masterclasses for designers in Sub-saharan Africa. In the first edition, they flew in designers from their UX team to facilitate the sessions.

To scale this, they held a three-day intensive “train-the-trainers” session in November 2017 as part of the World Usability Day. Participating in that training meant you were “certified” to facilitate a UX masterclass in your area which will be backed by Google.

UX professionals who happen to organise Usable, a community of designers, were chosen to be part of the training. Usable holds regular meetups sponsored by CcHub, a co-creation centre for solving some of Nigeria’s social problems using technology. As a result, CcHub hosts startups, founders and regular meetups to brainstorm and work towards the solution of our challenges.

In May, Usable held their first UX Masterclass for early-stage startups and this month, they are looking to host a second one for participants that would like to improve their product development and shipping process with design thinking.

The UX Masterclass is a two-day event where participants are shown the process of taking an idea from concept to launch. This usually involves things like UX fundamentals, user research, prototyping and user testing.
