Twitter Headquarters, California Property Trust court case

Elon Musk’s Twitter may be getting in fisticuffs with the California Property Trust. The firm owns the property on which Twitter’s San Franciso office is located. Now, they have sued the social media company to court for failing to pay rent.

According to a court filing from the property owners, Twitter owes about $136,250 in rent. Already, California Property Trust had notified Twitter about five days earlier. The social media company in turn did not respond to the property firm’s warnings.

Failure to pay up the outstanding rent within five days as stipulated by California Property Trust has led to a court case. Now, Twitter faces being kicked off the property if they don’t comply and pay up what they owe. Sadly, this is not the only debt Twitter is in at the moment.

Reports say that Twitter also owes rent for its satellite offices in other countries. The firm is also yet to pay up for the flight cost incurred by Elon Musk during his first week as Twitter’s CEO. All of this is in a bid to “save on costs” across its global offices.

Earlier, TechCity reported that Twitter was auctioning off some office equipment to boost its accounts. The items include a pizza oven, a commercial kitchen flour mixer, designer furniture like Eames chairs from Herman Miller and Knoll Diamond chairs. Also, a Twitter bird statue and a neon Twitter bird light display are being auctioned off.

Twitter may be getting ready for a ton of court cases in the coming months, as the social media company has hired more lawyers to strengthen its legal team.
