A coming feature, Spotify Community, will help users see what their friends are listening to at the moment. This feature will further integrate some social media features into the streaming application. Already, Spotify boasts of some social media features available for its premium users.
Features such as the Spotify Live podcast helps users stream their ideas with many people. Another such social feature is Blend, which helps create a shared playlist consisting of your and your friend’s listening activities. These features are only available to premium subscribers.
Spotify Community is still in the development stage, once available the tab will show your friend’s listening activity. Earlier this month, Techmeme podcast host showed off this feature via his Twitter account. For now, this feature is only accessible via safari by typing “Spotify: Community” on the search tab.
Once available on mobile via an update, the community feature will be more functional than it is now. This feature has long been part of the streaming platform’s user request since 2019 but Spotify didn’t respond until now.
