Josiah Dhev is a Nigerian tech entrepreneur, cybersecurity student and the founder of StudyCrew. An AI-powered and gamified educational platform designed to help students study smarter, stay consistent and learn collaboratively.
Josiah’s early curiosity for technology and digital systems quickly evolved into a mission to solve real-world problems. While still in his teens, he began leveraging software platforms and automation tools to create student-centric solutions, turning his interest in tech into a toolkit for impact.
Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity at the Federal University of Lafia, Josiah is refining his expertise in digital security and systems thinking. This academic foundation has reshaped his approach to technology and has deeply influenced his approach to product-building, ensuring that every solution he develops is as secure and scalable as it is functional.
The idea for StudyCrew was born from a simple but pressing problem: many students struggle with consistency, motivation and accountability when studying. Rather than building another traditional learning app, Josiah envisioned a platform that blends AI, gamification, social interaction and rewards to make studying engaging and sustainable.
StudyCrew allows students to set study goals, complete tasks, earn rewards, interact with peers and access AI-driven tools that support learning. The platform also includes a social layer where users can share progress, engage with educational content and, for premium users, earn monetization based on engagement—a feature inspired by modern creator platforms.
Despite resource constraints, Josiah successfully launched StudyCrew publicly. By documenting his progress online, he fostered a direct feedback loop with his user base, establishing a culture of rapid iteration. His approach remains focused on long-term value and technical integrity rather than chasing short-term hype.
Beyond technology, Josiah is vocal about the role of faith, discipline, and purpose in his journey. He often credits God as the foundation behind his ideas, execution and resilience. He aims to use his influence to inspire young Africans to pursue innovation with integrity.
Looking ahead, Josiah plans to scale StudyCrew across Nigeria and beyond, while also using technology as a tool for impact—supporting education, scholarships and community-focused initiatives.
