Jack Dorsey's social network platform, Bluesky enters its beta testing phas

Jack Dorsey app Bluesky could compete with Twitter. Says it will be free from government influence

With all the chaos within Twitter, a competing app from its former CEO is not what they may be ready to deal with.

In the midst of all the chaos at Twitter, former CEO Jack Dorsey is silently building Bluesky, a social networking platform. At the moment, Bluesky’s services are in beta testing phase as it prepares for a global launch. Let’s provide context as to what led Jack here.

About 14 years ago, Jack founded the Obvious Corporation which later gave birth to Twitter Inc. Over the years, Jack has played a vital role within Twitter, although he stepped down for a bit, he returned to take up the position of CEO again. During his days as the CEO of Twitter, Jack amassed fans and followers for himself on the app and in 2019 visited some of their markets on a “listening tour.”

By November of 2021, Jack Dorsey got ousted as the CEO of Twitter with Parag Agrawal taking over his place. In February 2022, Jack yet again left the Twitter board of directors. With no more ties to the bird app, Jack Dorsey could focus on building his own companies, one of which is Bluesky.

Bluesky was in fact setup in 2019 as a non-profit initiative from… you guessed it, Twitter. The company is independent of Twitter and unlike Elon Musk’s new social media application, it stands out as being decentralized. Right now, the Bluesky social media platform is accepting users for its beta testing phase

People who join the waitlist will join other beta testers once a public testing version of the platform becomes available. One strong claim the coming social network, Bluesky, is banking on is that it will be free from governmental influence. There is no set date for when this service will launch, but we can expect to see it go live in a few months.
