IoT is an enabler of economic development – Vodacom

Lanre Kolade, Vodacom Business Nigeria’s Managing Director has described Internet of Things (IoT) as increasingly becoming an enabler of economic development he therefore urged African governments continue to adopt the technology to leapfrog developmental stages, improve service delivery, supporting healthy, well-educated and economically active citizens.

He argued that IoT drives digital transformation, helping businesses to remain relevant in today’s digital world.

Kolade made these statements while commenting on Vodacom Business Nigeria’s award as the Internet of Things Provider of the Year, the Telecom Business of the year and the Enterprise Service Provider of the Year at the 2017 Nigeria Technology Innovation and Telecoms Awards (NTIT Award).

The NTIT Awards is an industry celebration organized by the Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria, aimed at recognizing organizations and individuals at the forefront of technology and innovation in the industry. At the event, Kolade  was also decorated with the Industry Personality of the year award.
