Google’s Magenta Creates a Piano Melody

Today, Google’s machine learning project, Project Magenta, created its first piece of art- a 90-second piano melody with only four notes as a base. The Magenta program was designed to create art and music systems and it is built on top of Google’s TensorFlow system.

According to a report, Google published a new blog post delving into Magenta’s goals, offering the most detail yet on Google’s artistic ambitions. According to the blog post, Magenta’s goals are to advance the state of art in machine intelligence for music and art generation and to build a community of artists, coders and machine learning researchers.  In an announcement, the team wrote, “We’ll start with audio and video support, tools for working with formats like MIDI, and platforms that help artists connect to machine learning models”

Also from this blog post, Google invited researchers and coders to check their alpha-version code. They also said they will invite external contributors to check in code to their GitHub.
