After months of back and forth regarding the purchase of Twitter, Elon Musk puts the final nail in the deal. Now Elon along with his investors have control of the company’s affairs. Well, this purchase brings joy to some people with the prospects it holds and fears to a few others because of Elon’s controversial personality.

So, we know that Twitter now has new owners, but everyone is more concerned with what’s going on within the company’s hierarchy. A few days ago, word went out from certain insiders that Elon Musk is planning to lay off 75% of the company’s staff. This came as a shock to most people, but the billionaire was able to clear the air, saying that the massive lay-off won’t occur. But that doesn’t mean that Twitter employees should let their guard down.

Just a few hours ago reports had it that Elon is letting go of the following Twitter execs; Parag Agrawal, Ned Segal, Sean Edgett, and Vijaya Gadde. It might have been clear that Parag would go if this deal was pulled off because his take-over as Twitter CEO got a “shit emoji” welcome from the Tesla CEO. This lay-off of executives got coverage from many top media outlets, and it might not be the last we would see.

Already our “Chief Twit” as we now know him has taken to his account to say that the platform will become a digital town square. This means that people with various beliefs can healthily debate issues without resorting to violence. This post from Elon the Chief Twit has made a few people think that we will see the likes of Donald Trump and Kanye West return to the platform.

The platform will still protect its users from predators and those promoting harmful speech. However, the change coming to the platform is one that we might feel even from a mile away. Already Elon Musk has made his official address to advertisers on the platform, who is next, we do not know. But we do know that change is coming, and it is important to “let that sink in” now.
