Beta testers now have access to the WhatsApp Avatar feature; you will soon, too

Some beta testers are getting early access to the soon-to-be released WhatsApp Avatar feature ahead of its global release.

A few weeks ago, TechCity reported that WhatsApp was working on an Avatar feature. The possible use scenarios of this coming feature were an absolute thrill to most WhatsApp users. Questions as to when this feature will make its way to the global audience have been on the minds of those eagerly anticipating its release.

The good news is that, soon, this feature will become available for WhatsApp users globally. Currently, beta testers of the application are testing this feature in actual use cases to detect any flaws that need adjustments. This is the second rollout of this feature to beta testers, as the first was marred with flaws, prompting WhatsApp to stop the tests and fix the issue.

After effecting the necessary changes, the WhatsApp Avatar feature is once again available for beta testers. This feature simply requires a user to take a portrait picture of themselves and an AI system will animate that picture. The “animated portrait” will then be made into various stickers that can be used within a chat.

With coming updates to the WhatsApp application, you will be able to express yourselfself with personalized stickers. Also, the stickers can serve as a profile photo if you are tired of the regular images in your gallery or, for some people, leaving the profile image empty.
