Beyond the breakthrough: When one woman rises, communities rise

ALX will host a virtual Women’s Month Virtual Event on 27 March, bringing together inspiring voices from across the African continent as the organisation highlight the journeys of women shaping Africa’s future through technology, entrepreneurship, and digital opportunity.
Hosted by Oyin-Johnson Awoniyi, Associate General Counsel at ALX Africa, the event will feature an opening from poetic provocateur Ashanti Kunene, founder of Learning to Unlearn.
The keynote speaker is Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli, the CEO of the One Campaign. Ndidi has over 25 years of international development experience and has been deeply involved in fostering impactful solutions in the global social innovation landscape, with a focus on Africa. She is the Executive Director of the FATE Foundation, the founder of LEAP Africa and African Food Changemakers and serves on several boards including the Rockefeller Foundation, Stanbic IBTC Group, the Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum.

She will focus on ‘Beyond the breakthrough: Building success without losing yourself’ – a keynote exploring leadership, purpose, and creating pathways for others.
A panel conversation will spotlight women from the ALX community who are transforming their learning journeys into real-world impact. Through their stories and insights, participants will hear how African women are not only accessing opportunity but using their growth to create pathways for others.

• Juanita Gyamfi (Ghana) – Founder, Mind Menders Alliance • Valentine Muriuki (Kenya) – Salesforce Administrator for global companies
• Philile Ngubane (South Africa) – Founder, The Office Ship • Mariam A. Abdrabu (Egypt) – Founder, The Meem English Community
