3 startups to get $30k seed investment in Enugu at GenesysIGNITE

At 10am on December 15, all roads will lead to the Coal City of Enugu for the GenesysIGNITE tech conference organized by Genesys Tech Hub in collaboration with CFAtech.ng. At the event, 3 startups selected by the judges of the startup competition would receive a seed investment of USD30,000.

Organizers said 147 startups registered for the competition out of which nine were selected to pitch, they are Touchabl pictures; Barter9ja; House of Uwe; Uzaali; Playjoor; Gallantry Sphere; Matta; Tutor Finder and Farm Market.

They will pitch to a panel of judges that includes Mohammed Ibrahim, Founder of Startup Arewa; Ommo Clark, CEO of iBez Solutions; Kolapo Ogungbile, Manager at Heartland Incubation Hub (Oluaka); Kayode Oyewole, Manager at Ventures Platform; Uche Aniche, Founder of Startups South; Obi Asika, Chairman of Dragon Africa; and Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata Jnr., Presenter, Tech Trends on Channels TV.

Kingsley Eze, Founder of GenesysTechHub, expressed optimism and confidence in the credibility as well as the wealth of experience of the judges.

“We believe that the expertise and integrity of the judges would also boost the credibility of the selection process;” Eze said. “The presence of the judges would also inspire the selected and invited startups as well as the South East tech community in general,” he added.

The managing Director of Genesys Tech Hub, Nnamdi Anika, added that the quality of startups that entered for the competition is quite encouraging but what many of them need is a structured way of nurturing their ventures.

“Which is exactly what we are providing at our incubation centre,” he said.

In his view, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata Jnr., Presenter, Tech Trends on Channels TV said the main objective is to discuss latest technology trends as it affects the region and to proffer professional insights particularly for the participating start-ups.
