jumia zero data app

Jumia and MTN now allows you shop with zero data

Jumia, an online shopping destination for many in Africa, has decided to save customers their data whilst they shop online using the Jumia Zero Data app. To do this, Jumia partnered with MTN, one of the most popular telecommunication company in Africa.

How does this work? It is just as simple as the name sounds. We all agree that purchasing data in Nigeria can be pretty expensive, digging deep into our pockets. So, Jumia decided to find a way of reducing that burden on the shoulders of its customers. Now, you can shop using the Jumia app and be rest assured that you will be not be charged for the data consumed. However, this is only possible when you are using the MTN data bundle.

Curiously, we sought to find out the idea behind this initiative. And here is what the CEO of Jumia Africa had to say, “In order to provide the best customer experience, it is time for Jumia to make its services available for more people, anywhere at any given time. We are proud of this new partnership with MTN that will undoubtedly lead to an increasing value for our customers. We believe that a better internet access, and even more mobile, will foster economic development for both small businesses and Nigeria as a whole”.

Starting right now, you get to download the Jumia app for free and it is available on the Android, Blackberry and iOS smartphones. Once you have that, begin to shop from over 150,000 products which are waiting to become yours and do this knowing that, there is no data costs attached to it.

Another interesting fact is that, the Jumia app gives you access to Jovago, Africa’s hotel booking online platform and Kaymu, an online shopping community in Africa.

To get started, send JUMAPP to 131 via SMS from an MTN phone and the link will be sent to your phone. No matter how rich you are, everyone deserves to be have some expenses taken off them!
