According to Google, EME music’s golden boy Wizkid has once again shown critics that he remains Naija’s most popular entertainer. Beating other top music headliners; Tuface, Dbanj and Iyanya, he took the top spot as Nigeria’s most searched musician in Nigeria in July 2013.
What even makes this piece of information bigger is that Wizkid even beat Mercy Johnson who has been Nigeria’s most searched personality in the last 2 years to clinch the top position. Surprising enough, Mercy Johnson wasn’t even the most search movie personality. Funke Akindele aka “Sulia kan aiyetoro kan” beat Mrs Prince Odianosen Okojie to the second position.
Appearing on the top most searched celebs list are other top headliners Ini Edo, Tonto Dike, Tiwa Savage, 2Face, Iyanya, Dbanj and Genevieve Nnaji.
The list which also comprises of top searches in categories like Mobile Phones, Sports reveals that the top 5 most trending issues in Nigeria are ASUU strike, Ramadan, Royal Baby, death of Glee superstar; Cory Monteith (glee) and the globally followed Trayvon Martin/Zimmerman case.
The list also shows that Arsenal FC and the Nokia Lumia 1020 were the most searched football clubs and mobile phone in the month.
