WhatsApp Privacy is getting standalone placement with new beta upgrade

WhatsApp privacy is getting a section in settings all to itself, as the new beta testing update for Android and iOS shows.

Beta testers on the Meta-owned messaging application WhatsApp are reporting some changes to the app’s Privacy settings. With the new TestFlight update, WhatsApp is changing the location of the privacy settings page. Currently, the privacy section on WhatsApp is within the account setting page, but that will soon change.

With the new upgrade, beta testers are noticing that the privacy setting will have a section to itself. It will no longer placed within the profile settings page but as an independent setting. We are also made to understand that this change is currently accessible to both Android and iOS beta testers.

This is a very useful change to WhatsApp, considering that users are becoming more aware of their privacy needs. In previous updates, the WhatsApp privacy setting has got even more features and user-friendly controls. These features streamline user choices on who gets to see their profile picture, last seen, about, within their contact list.

Pulling the privacy setting out of the main account setting and making it a distinct set of its own is drawing more attention to user privacy. It also makes the feature more accessible to users who want to make quick edits or changes to their privacy settings. This update will become available to global users in the coming weeks.
