Someone says they are on their way home. An hour passes. Then another. Calls go straight to voicemail, messages do not deliver, and connectivity drops. At that moment, the anxiety shifts from “Where are they?” to “Are they safe?”
It is a scenario many people recognise, and it is the exact problem driving SafX, a personal safety and emergency coordination platform entering its wider testing phase today. Developed by technology company ZenovTech, SafX shifts the focus from merely reacting to emergencies to maintaining a continuous “safety trail” during everyday moments of uncertainty.

Unlike safety apps that depend entirely on mobile data for connected features, SafX directly addresses what happens when internet connectivity drops. Its offline location recording preserves available location data on the user’s device while offline and automatically synchronises it when connectivity returns. If mobile data remains unavailable, SafX can fall back to SMS-based safety alerts to send essential safety information to selected trusted contacts.
“Losing an internet connection should not automatically mean losing someone’s safety trail,” said Kingsley Aguagwa, Co-Founder of SafX. “A safety platform shouldn’t only become useful after an emergency has already happened, and it shouldn’t become completely useless simply because an internet connection disappears.”

Built for daily peace of mind, not only emergencies
SafX brings a range of personal safety tools together in one platform:
• HomeSafe check-ins: Arrival check-ins that help trusted contacts know when a user reaches a destination.
• Smart geofencing: Real-time alerts when loved ones enter or leave saved locations.
• Connected SOS responses: Emergency alerts that can share live location, audio, video and other safety information with trusted contacts.
• Live location sharing: Location sharing that helps users stay connected with selected trusted contacts.
• Community Watch: A broader layer for community-based safety awareness.
“Safety is ultimately about reassurance,” said Stephanie Aguagwa, Co-Founder of SafX. “Most of the time, nothing is wrong. SafX is built around those everyday, uncertain moments—like travelling alone or waiting for a delayed family member—giving people a reliable way to stay connected to the people they trust.”

SafX is currently in its pre-launch and wider testing phase ahead of its full consumer rollout. With offline location recording designed to preserve a user’s location trail when internet connectivity is interrupted.
