TikTok live shopping is coming to your feed very soon

With over 1 billion monthly active users, social media application Tiktok has cracked the code of video sharing. The platform is now gradually morphing into a marketplace. Most users flock to the platform to advertise their products to other users whom they see as prospective customers.

In a bid to improve the shopping or e-commerce potential on the video-sharing app, its board will be introducing live shopping. This isn’t a new feature to the social media giant, as there are active and thriving shops on its Chinese app. Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok already has an e-commerce hosting platform (native to Asia) which holds 9 million users per month.

Bringing this feature to more regions will aid small and large businesses to reach a wider audience. For starters, the TikTok live shopping feature will be exclusive to the United States. This feature will be made available in collaboration with TalkShopLive, an e-commerce platform.

The performance of this platform will determine its presence in more regions across the world. With TikTok’s growing popularity locally, this will definitely be a stepping stone for many businesses to get their products to more people.
