These startups won FCMB Tech Pitch Perfect

Winners of the recently held First City Monument Bank’s Tech Pitch Perfect competition are eFarms and SmartTeller.

The aim of the competition was to seek tech startups across Nigeria with innovative e-Payment/e-Collection and e-Savings solutions.

Following the applications phase, 10 startups (5 each in e-Payment/e-Collection and e-Savings track) were selected to pitch.

eFarms is an agric-focused fintech company that crowdfunds capital from people with disposable income to fund farmers who need it to expand their farm holdings.

SmartTeller on the other hand is a cooperative digital banking and payments platform.

AT the event held at Hub One, FCMB’s Yaba-based coworking space for disruptors and visionaries, a total of 10 startups pitched to a panel of judges that comprised George Ogbonnaya (FCMB), Segun Adeyemi (Pilot Partners), Abayomi Adebanjo (Jackson Etti & Edu) and Odunayo Eweniyi (PiggyVest).

The judges selected eFarms (e-Savings track) and SmartTeller (e-Payment/e-Collection track) as winners.

In a statement, FCMB said the winners got ₦1 million each, free membership for a year at Hub One, ₦1 million worth of legal services from Jackson, Etti & Edu, the opportunity to work with FCMB, a leading financial institution in the country, and other prizes.
