TEDxLagos is looking at the UPSIDE of 2020.
TEDxLagos 2020 is upon us and the theme for this year’s conference is UPSIDE. While we are not lost on the realities of the year so far, we aim to not let these realities get the best of us. We are in fact, poised to look at the UPSIDE of things!
As a way of being ambassadors of such positive outlook on life as we know it now, we will be holding our first ever virtual TEDxLagos conference! Yes! Our conference this year seeks to focus on the positives – ideas, solutions, interventions, objectives, goals. We will feature some of the country’s finest speakers and thought leaders who will share ideas that highlight the better way.
As a result of the fact that it is our first virtual gathering, the registration process for attending this year’s conference may slightly differ and as such, we encourage every potential attendee to pay very close attention to the registration instructions as they unfold in the coming days. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
UPSIDE is a world of perspective, opportunity and leverage. With challenges being inevitable, it is up to us as a community to actively look out for the upside in situations. And where there is none, as a community, we will create the UPSIDE.
