TECNO recently announced the TECNO L9 Plus, a successor to the L8 which had a remarkable battery life as a major USP. The L9 Plus has major improvements in screen size, design, Operating system and of course, a giant battery capacity fitted into a slim metal body.
The TECNO L9 Plus comes in a white pack emphasizing a power on its branding. Opening up the cover of the pack, you are welcomed by a 6-inch Champagne Gold coloured TECNO L9 Plus, which is unbelievably slim.
I was expecting a large screen device with considerably fat body but I can only say TECNO did a great job here by stuffing a 5,000mAh battery into this slim device. More interesting is the fact that it doesn’t feel heavy, neither did it feel too big nor uncomfortable holding it in the hand.
Digging further into the pack, you are embraced by TECNO’s generosity. Once again there is a free smart cover that comes along with the phone. You also find a power/USB cable, a power adapter, earpiece and an OTG cable.
The OTG cable present in the pack is meant to enable connection that will make the TECNO L9 Plus charge another phone, all thanks to the robust battery. In fact TECNO has touted a 72 hours uninterrupted usage time on the battery, such that you won’t need to worry about running out of battery to stay connected.
There is also a fast charge feature where a 5 minutes charge on the device provides enough battery juice to take 1,000 pictures. Camera usage (whether for pictures or video) consumes a considerable amount of battery life, however TECNO didn’t specify if these number of pictures can be achieved when you charge the battery from 0% for five minutes.

Apart from the compact 6-inch display and battery performance which make up the main USPs of the TECNO L9 Plus, there are other impressive features like the finger print scanner and a 13MP auto-focus camera.
