TECNO CAMON CX: My First 48hours with the newly launched device.

I have been using 2017’s new top-selling smartphone for the past 2 days and I would like to share my first thoughts. So, without wasting much time, grab a seat and relax while I tell you more.

It’s been said on several occasions that the new Camon CX is one of the most beautiful smartphones produced by TECNO. So, it’s expected that a beautiful phone like the CX is worthy of good-looking packaging and it certainly didn’t disappoint here, offering a box that is simple yet elegant.

The black box is minimalistic and sophisticated, with bright silver colours adorning the front in the shape of the device’s name. Open the box and there is plenty to feast on; a USB cable, power outlet connector, a pair of headphones, a free pouch and the TECNO Camon CX itself.

Let me give you some details about the TECNO CAMON CX specifications:

• All new Android 7.0-based HIOS 2.0

• 5.5-inch FHD Gorilla tampered glass display

• 2GB of RAM

• 16 GB of internal storage (expandable by up to 128 GB via microSD)

• 16MP rear and 16MP front camera with dual LED flash. • 3,200 mAh battery

• Fingerprint scanner

• 5.6mm thick

Obviously, TECNO has improved a lot on the looks and feel of the Camon CX. They went back to the drawing board with the CX to provide a better build and a more ‘enticing’ look. The smartphone’s aesthetic is beautifully crafted and feels extremely lustrous when held.

The size is near perfect with cool chambered edges. This design element closely resembles the TECNO Phantom 6, which also has curved edges at the back.

One thing that I particularly like about the CX design is the positioning of the back camera. Although, the phone’s metal and glass are still a bit slippery for comfortable grip, the size and edges help you get a firm hold of the device.

The TECNO Camon CX flaunts a Super 5.5FHD high-definition display, with 85% NTSC high saturation effect, with 500nit brightness which makes the display of the device immersive when viewed from any angle. And, as you can expect of Full High-Definition display, it offers a gorgeous deep black and punched out colours.

I should add at this point, despite the brightness and amazing display quality, the battery isn’t taking that much hit, heat.

As far as memory goes, the CX has the capability to stomach up to 128GB! I tested that by putting the 128 GB microSD in and it worked perfectly without lag.

The battery capacity is at a 3,200 mAh and while it’s not as large as the TECNO L9 or L9 plus device’s battery, the CX can provide better usage hours than any of its direct predecessors. On heavy (relative) usage, I was able to snap up to 200 photos after a 5mins charge. Its worthy to note that the fast charge technology on the CX gives 50% bar when you charge it for 45mins; amazing stuff!

Most importantly, the camera on this Camon is the best. It sports a dual 16MP camera and a dual LED flash. The front camera’s F / 2.0 aperture increases the amount of light that enters the device for better selfies in very low lit environments.

Pixels in the main camera are also larger, which means they can let in more light and speed up shutters, effectively getting rid of blur.

Check out this apple crate that was shot in a really dark environment with the new Camon CX.

 Impressive. Yes.
