Early-stage startups in Nigeria can compete to win up to NGN200,000 worth of support in the just-launched Starta Entrepreneur Competition organised by Starta which is a free business support platform for startup founders in Africa, providing a curated mix of practical business advice and how-to, software tools, networking and funding opportunities.

The competition will provide legal support, accounting services, printing and web development services. For this competition, Starta is partnering with Lagos-based legal firm for entrepreneurs The Longe Practice, automated legal services platform DIYLaw.ng, digital creatives marketplace Codulab, Audeo Advisory Services, and next-generation print shop Printivo.

According to the organizers, the aim of Starta Entrepreneur Competition is to help entrepreneurs address challenges they face while setting up a business, including registering as a legal entity, how to design and get the business brand into the hands of customers, developing a web presence, and setting up finance, accounting and tax.

“At The Longe Practice, our entire business is built upon helping African entrepreneurs succeed,” said Odunola Longe, co-founder of The Longe Practice. “We are fans of what Starta is doing for the African startups and are glad to partner with them in this competition.”

Prizes up for grabs include two hours of legal consultation at The Longe Practice worth US$500, discounts on company incorporation packages at DIYLaw.ng, a website landing page design and hosting for one year from Codulab, two months of free accounting and finance services by Audeo Advisory Services, and a discount voucher to spend on printing orders at Printivo.

Startups can enter the competition via the Starta website, or on social media. Confirming entry earns the startup one point, while taking other actions on the platform will earn more points. The competition is open now and will run until February 4.
