Snapchat is bringing the revolutionary messaging app to Web. Finally. This is no doubt a welcome development from the platform and how its users interact with their devices. As the world moves into a life of interconnected devices or IoT as we know it, there is a growing need for cross-platform collaboration.

As long as you have a Snapchat profile, you will now be able to chat from a browser. The web app will work on just about any browser; Chrome, Safari or Microsoft Edge. All a user needs to do is visit the Snapchat website, sign in and carry on their conversation with friends… but at a price.

Snapchat has put a paywall on this feature for some users and made it available only in a few regions. For now, the countries with access to this feature are the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. A global rollout is coming, but the company needs to see how its strongest markets will adopt Snapchat for Web.

Currently and after the global rollout, only Snapchat+ subscribers will have access to this feature. This feature costs $3.99 per month and became available in the month of June. This paid plan comes with a bunch of new and exclusive features for top Snapchat users. Snapchat for Web is a good example of an exclusive feature on Snapchat+.

Snapchat for web will come with all the basic features you have on the mobile app. Snapchat says there will be no exceptions, and since it is a premium service, it will rock all Snapchat+ features. But is this enough to make a basic Snapchat user switch to the Snapchat+ plan?
