Samsung Galaxy Mega Review

Samsung in its continuous effort at innovation to please their numerous customers, Samsung mobile has released in June a blend of the tablet and phone into one stunning interesting device – the Samsung Galaxy Mega.

Samsung says it’s time to live large with the design of the Samsung Galaxy Mega which has a large 5.8-inch full HD display. It really fills the whole palm of your hand for maximum control. (There’s the other variant of the Galaxy mega with a 6.3 inch screen size and slightly different configuration).

The back cover of the Samsung Galaxy mega is made of glossy plastic and the body has a chrome bezel on the sides with plastic covering as well. The screen is a 720 by 1280 pixels SUPER AMOLED multi-touch screen.

There’s the sleep/wake button on the right side and the volume rocker on the left side. There’s the usual 3.5mm headphone jack at the top. The Home button is below the screen.

It comes with an internal memory of 8GB which can be expanded to 64GB with a micro SD card. The micro SD slot is found on top of the SIM slot. I wonder the reason for this as the phone is big and the SD slot still has to share a space with the SIM slot.

The battery life can last upto 10 hours on talk time and you can enjoy about at least 3 days of music play time. It can be on standby for 17 and half days. This phablet makes movies and game enjoyable with its large screen.

With several features similar to the S4 as well, the Galaxy Mega packs Samsung’s air view, smart screen, screen mirroring, multi-window, and S Beam functions. This is possible with the 1.4GHz dual core processor and a 1.5GB RAM. The installed OS is of course the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2.

You will also enjoy customizable lock screens and the quick settings found on the drop-down notification bar.

With the SIM card, you can access 2G, 3G, and 4G network. You can also enjoy data access with GPRS, Edge, HSUPA, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, infrared port and USB giving anyone many options for connectivity.

Samsung also included the one-hand operation function which helps you to use the screen keypad on either hand with convenience. You can access this function via the drop-down menu.

Features like the Samsung apps, S Planner, S Travel, Story Album with some social media networks are all included.
