NYSC Reduces Cost Of Online Registration

A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Stakeholders meeting in Abuja according to Daily Independent has resolved that the cost of the recently introduced NYSC online registration fee for prospective corps members should be reduced.

They also also agreed that more awareness should be made concerning the online registration at the various institutions of higher learning.

The meeting further highlighted the benefits of the package to include online application and relocation of corps members from one state to another, adding that it is expected to save corps members from unnecessary road hazards in pursuance of NYSC issues.

Some of the stakeholders present at the conference include NYSC management, executive members of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Association of Registrars of Nigerian Universities (ARNU), executive members, Conference of Registrars of Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology in Nigeria (COREG), Civil Society Groups, SIDMACH officials, the press and corps members of 2014 Batches ‘B’ & ‘C’.

Meanwhile, the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Johnson Olawumi, disclosed that 26.5 per cent of the 127,560 registered batch ‘C’ corps members paid the N4,000 online registration to access the services under the scheme’s new mobilisation policy.
