Nigeria’s former finance minister joins the board of Twitter

Social media giant Twitter has announced the addition of Nigeria’s former finance minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweal to its board. The announcement was made by Jack Dorsey, the co-founder and CEO of Twitter.

In her response, Iweala described Twitter as a global platform that is such a strong connector of people and ideas.

This announcement resonated well among Nigerian Twitter users including government officials. Adamu Garba, a 2019 presidential aspirant on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) said the development attests to the fact that Nigerians who commits to greatness will surely get it. He said it is inspiring to the current generation.

Nigeria’s Presidency also welcomed the development through the Presidential Special Assistant, Bashir Ahmad.
