Meta today announced the release of the new version of its AI assistant, Meta AI.
The new version is built with Llama 3 – a significant step in making Meta AI smarter, faster, and more fun than ever before.
Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg made the announcement on an instagram post saying ;
“We’re upgrading Meta AI with our new state-of-the-art Llama 3 AI model, which we’re open sourcing. With this new model, we believe Meta AI is now the most intelligent AI assistant that you can freely use.”
Meta AI Across all Meta Platforms
The company has integrated the AI Assistant across all its platforms.
Meta AI can now be used on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger.
Zuckerberg said “ We’re making Meta AI easier to use by integrating it into the search boxes at the top of WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger”
Users can now use Meta AI in feeds, chats, search and more across all Meta apps without exiting the app.
The company also built a website meta.ai for users on the web.
Real Time Search Results
Another update is the integration of real time knowledge from Google and Bing, right into the search answers.
This makes Meta AI even smarter.
In fact, reports say that Meta AI assistant is the only chatbot that now integrates real-time search results from both Bing and Google.
Zuckerberg in his post highlighted ;
“Our goal is to build the world’s leading AI. We believe Meta AI is now the most intelligent AI assistant that you can freely use”
Meta AI in New Countries
Meta also announced the launch of the AI assistant in seven countries across Sub-Saharan Africa and 6 other countries.
It is now available on phones and in pockets for free in Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi.
Other countries receiving Meta AI rollout today include; Australia, Canada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Singapore.
“With our expansion of Meta AI in English to new countries, we are excited to share our next-generation assistant with even more people …” the CEO shared.
Other Updates
Meta also rolled out other new features on Meta AI
include;
- the ability to animate images,
- to iterate on them in a new style,
- to turn them into a GIF to share with friends.
‘Meta AI now generates high quality images so fast that it creates and updates them in real-time as you’re typing. It’ll also generate a playback video of your creation process.’ The CEO proudly highlighted
