Where Yaba left is the psychiatric therapy and treatment hub of Lagos mainland, Yaba right is the most popular tech community in Nigeria. It is where majority of the innovative, futuristic, technology treatment, networking, development and thinking is done. It plays host to tech incubator spaces like CC Hub, Idea hub and an enormous number of startups and SMEs. Little wonder, it was Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s first stop soon as he touched down Nigeria.

Mark Zuckerberg was pictured visiting CC Hub moments ago as reported by the BBC and he plans to be in the country for a while. It would interest you to know that Nigeria is the first African country he is visiting and the reason is not far fetched; his recent investment in Andela most likely is top of his mind, his knack for encouraging young entrepreneurs (his Facebook page is always popping) as well as other engagements that have not been made public yet. There is a Facebook Nigeria live press event happening tomorrow though, at Eko hotel which we will be attending. Food and drinks will be served 🙂
