Mara Mentor launches free training sessions for Nigerian youth

Mara Mentor Nigeria, a social enterprise initiative of the Mara Foundation, has launched a series of free skills training for Nigerian youths. According to the company, the purpose of the training is to inspire, equip and empower as many Nigerian youth with the knowledge and skills needed to be successful entrepreneurs or workplace professionals.

The inaugural training session, was held in Lagos sometime last week and was facilitated by Mara Mentor’s Olarewaju Elvis. Olarewaju, who is also a Managing Consultant at Massachusetts Associates, taught on the topic ‘Creative thinking to help business growth’.

Speaking about the purpose of the free skills training being offered by the company. Olarewaju said “all successful entrepreneurs and professionals have something in common – a RAS mind-set. They are result, action and solution oriented. And trainings like this help equip young people with these approach,”

At the moment, only young people who are part of the Mara Mentor Nigeria community are the only ones invited to these skills sessions. Hence, all interested persons are required to join Mara Mentor’s online community via their Mara Mentor app, after which an invitation will be sent for the new member to attend a skills session in their city.
