StartUp DealDay: Lagos Angel Network sign-off N50M for Three Startups

Lagos Angel Network (LAN) recently held the final pitch evening for its first Lagos StartUp DealDay event, showcasing five of the most promising startups in Lagos. A total of N50 million has been committed to three selected ventures by three DealDay syndicates.

LAN received nearly 250 applications for the programme. These were whittled down to an initial shortlist of 10, and then to a final shortlist of five ventures that were invited to the final pitch round. Pitches were made in front of a closed panel of LAN members, DealDay judges and syndicate members.

Earlier, on March 2nd 2016, LAN announced its intention to raise N100 million from its members and the early stage investment community at large for Lagos-based ventures during 2016, by working in partnership with VC4Africa, the Africa Business Angel Network (ABAN), hubs, incubators and accelerators to run the StartUp DealDay programme on a quarterly basis.

The next StartUp DealDay will hold on June 30th, 2016.

Interested investors/syndicates should contact the LAN Secretariat by email at secretariat@lagosangelnetwork.net for information on how to register.

Interested ventures/startups should look out for announcements via websites and social media platforms of LAN, VC4Africa and ABAN for application dates for the June 2016 cycle.
