Did you know that the number of internet subscribers in Nigeria grew from 140.28 million to 154.3 million users in Q4 2021? Well, now you know. On the latest TechCity News Update, we discussed this and more. 

While the aforementioned remains a somewhat shocking revelation, it’s gratifying to see that daily, Nigerians are tilting towards digital literacy. This report was released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), which also added that Nigerian internet subscribers increased by 10 percent quarter on quarter. MTN ranks as the telecommunications with the highest customer base of 58.8 million subscribers while Lagos state, Kano state, and Ogun state made up the top three states with the highest internet subscribers in Nigeria.

Also reported were rumors surrounding the yet-to-be-released iPhone 14. One rumor that has got eyes popping is that the iPhone 14 will likely be the first mobile phone without physical sim cards. This correlates with an anonymous tip that revealed Apple is preparing major carriers for E-sim only phones by September.

Lastly, API fintech company, Stich has announced a $21 million series A funding round led by the spruce house partnership. The funding will go a long way in expanding its team, launching new product offerings, and entering new markets across the continent.
