Infinix S2 unboxing and first impression

Infinix Mobility recently announced the Infinix S2, a new addition and the second in the HOT S series. Just as we reported few days before the launch, the new device confirms some of the specifications we stated as expected. However we were surprised to see the Infinix S2 carry two front cameras, arguably the first smartphone in Nigeria with two front cameras.

We have the HOT S2 device here in the TechCity studio and we’ve got our unboxing and first impression. First thing to note is the silver trim at that runs round the edge and also at the back of the device.

The back panel looks similar to that of the previous HOT S but this looks way better and feels good in the hand. It is slim, light weight and has a comfortable grip when you hold it. There has been a lot of improvement in the design department and material build quality. The HOT S2 has two front cameras, 13MP and 8MP respectively to enable it accommodate more people into the photo when taking selfies. Infinix tagged this ‘Wefie’, enabling the front camera take a wide shot up to 135 degrees, hence the tagline ‘Wefie phone’.

At the back of the device is a fingerprint scanner, a 13MP camera and LED flash.

The power button and SIM card slot are on the right side while the volume rocker is on the left. The size of the device makes it easy to reach these buttons without stress, finger print scanner, power button and volume rocker can all be reached when holding the phone with one hand. Navigation keys are placed below the screen and represented by three tiny dots.

Looking further into the pack, you have the earpiece, the USB cable and the power plug. Surprisingly there is no complementary phone case this time around, all you get as extra accessory is the screen guard.

See unboxing video below:

Specifications worthy of note on the Infinix S2 include:

Finger print sensor

5.2” IPS display

13MP and 8MP Dual front camera

13MP back camera

2GB RAM and 16GB Internal memory

3,000 mAh battery capacity.

There you have it guys, the Infinix S2 seem impressive at first look. Ensure to keep tabs on this website where we will drop the full review in the coming days.
