Infinix Hot 3 unboxing and first impression

Infinix Mobility recently announced the introduction of a third smartphone in the Hot series: the Infinix Hot 3. This device is coming at the time when prices of smartphones across all range have gone up as a result of the increasing exchange rate is sure to bring some relief to users who are on a low budget.

Infinix Hot 3 is the follow up to the Hot 2, the first smartphone to be enrolled under Google’s Android One program in Africa, evidently playing within the mid-range smartphone sphere, it is expected that it will do well considering the specifications it is packed with and also taking a cue from the success of the previous Hot models.

The Infinix Hot 3 is a 5.5-inch smartphone customized with the XUI user interface backed by Android Lollipop OS. The XUI is Infinix own user interface which had its debut on the Note 2. It is dual SIM as expected, powered by a Quad Core processor and a 3,000mAh battery. Camera is pegged at 8MP while the front camera is 2MP with a flash which Infinix called ‘Soft Flash’

Infinix Hot 3A straight dive into the box, the phone is neatly placed right on the top. Looking at the front of the phone, Infinix maintained the same design but there is a completely new design on the back of the phone.

Infinix Hot 3Apparently the three devices in the Hot line up have varied in design form. Button position still remain same, on the right hand side you find the power button and the volume rocker while the navigation keys are just below the screen.

Holding the device in the hand really feels good, thanks to the slightly curved edges on the back.

Back cover is removable, the 3,000mAh battery is also removable so you can easily swap batteries if the need be. The two SIM card slots and the micro SD are just above the battery.

Infinix Hot 3On first experience, the phone runs smooth, switching between apps is fluid too but i will have to play with the device enough to be able to ascertain its delivery especially with the 1GB RAM. One would ask why Infinix decided to peg this phone at 1GB RAM when its predecessor, the Hot 2 had 2GB of RAM.

Opening further, there are two boxes with one containing the charger while the other contains the USB cable and the earpiece.

Infinix Hot 3Finding the earpiece in the box was surprising anyway, does this mean Infinix has finally made a U-turn on its decision to take away the complementary earpiece that comes alongside the phones?

Infinix Hot 3 Well we can’t be so sure now until a new device is launched, however we know that Infinix has earpiece sold independently in the market.

So that’s what you have in the box, keep tabs on this space as i bring you a full review in the coming days.
