Nigeria’s Co-Creation Hub has announced its partnership with the tech giant IBM for a four-day hacking event called the IBM Lasgidi Hackathon. The theme of the event is centered around Mobile Payments and Smarter Government.
The event which will hold from October 21 to 24 in CcHUB, yaba is designed to help shape Nigeria’s technology future and move Nigeria’s digital revolution forward. Participants include students, developer or recent university graduate and are invited from all part of the country.
“You are invited to test your skills in a four-day IBM “hacking” event designed to get the smartest minds, from Nigerian universities and business, working to innovate around the event themes. The first two days of the event will be spent training participants, after which they will have the opportunity to continue to the hackathon phase”, as stated in a press release by CcHUB.
During the event, participants are expected to turn their creative and imaginative skills into ideas into solutions. During the event, university undergraduates, recent graduates, and developers will have access to leading IBM development platforms for mobile, cloud, and data. Participants will rceive complimentary IBM-themed give-aways and will also have the opportunity to meet with IBM Human Resources personnel to discuss career goals.
It is expected of participants to have a sufficient level of technology understanding to take part in the hackathon.
