Here’s what happened at Lagos Startup Week 2018

The fourth edition of the Lagos Startup Week 2018 held last week, and as always dished out the best and highest form of quality contents to its attendees. The week-long celebration of entrepreneurs and the Lagos ecosystem did not fall short of expectations in terms of value to audience.

Hosting thousands of attendees throughout the week, LSW18 featured on its platform, the best professionals and entrepreneurs via panels, fireside chats and talks where stories and insights pivotal to the Lagos Startup ecosystem were shared.

Kicking off on Monday 24th September, 2018 with a ceremony, the week held over 20 events spanning across 10 tracks including Fintech, Retail innovation, Women, DevJam, and more which held at various venues in the city of Lagos.

Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th September featured masterclasses for entrepreneurs and startups which covered finances, marketing their products, addressing all legal needs and lots of other pain points affecting startup founders.

A major highlight of the week was a portfolio review sponsored by Infinix Nigeria and a host of other partners, and carried out by The Now Collectives where the winner went home with a brand new Infinix Note 5 device.

The week officially ended with several panels – Fintech, Retail and investment – on Friday 28th, and an official Closing Ceremony. International developer’s conference DevJam + Node.js held on Saturday 29th, which signaled the end of this edition of the Lagos Startup Week.

Since 2015, Lagos Startup Week has been at the forefront of driving very important conversations around the startup ecosystem in the city of Lagos. The week has this far, encouraged much needed innovations in our clime. In all, it comes off as a model that should be replicated across every other African country.
