Here’s how comedy content won 2016 in Nigeria

Last year, it was hiphop sensation, Olamide, that dominated Nigeria’s most watched YouTube videos. But this year, fast rising young comedienne, Emmanuella, is the YouTube star of the year in Nigeria.

I’ll Beat You (Mark Angel Comedy) had the most views on YouTube in Nigeria in 2016.

Her video, I’ll Beat You (Mark Angel Comedy) had the most views on YouTube in Nigeria in 2016. The list also included AY and actress; Jenifa. Tiwa Savage’s explosive interview also led the pack. Google reveals that it was the second most-watched video in Nigeria in 2016.

This year’s non-music list makes it even more apparent that Nigerians love a good laugh, with eight of the top 10 trending videos being humour-themed. The much raved-about Mark Angel Comedy was the most featured with three of the top 10 videos in the non-music category.
