Google Officially Ends Sales Of Google Glass Today

Google is ending its Glass experiment today, according to reports that surface last week stating Google will officially end the sale of Google Glass.

The Google Glass was launched in 2013, it is a smart glass which attempts to make wearable computing mainstream, integrated with heads-up display and a battery hidden inside the frame. It is now been put to a halt after it failed to become a market hit largely due to factors like its high price and public perception and complications about its look and function.

Google insists that there will be future glass projects, however, the Glass team will move out of the Google X division and become a separate entity under its current manager Ivy Ross, The team will report to Tony Fadell, CEO of Nest which was acquired by Google last year.

There is no definite time for the release of a new version of Glass but we probably hope it would be another version will be released in 2015 going by a report released on Wall Street Journal last December.
