Elon Musk’s November 7th deadline for Twitter Blue has come and gone. Now what?

Elon Musk’s team is holding off on the verification of Twitter Blue subscribers until this major event passes.

The roll-out of Twitter’s new verification subscription model and ultimately an update to Twitter Blue is now on hold. While CEO, Elon Musk allegedly threatened to fire engineers if the update wasn’t ready by November 7th, something else has caused the delay.

This delay is coming in light of the US midterm elections for the members of Congress. With the elections, engineers at Twitter are getting a break from the initial deadline to further perfect this verification process for Blue subscribers. Not only will the elections delay the verification process, but they will also hold back the increment on the subscription price for Blue users.

If all goes according to plan, we will begin to see more verified accounts on Twitter. The majority of the new blue tick accounts will be Twitter Blue subscribers, who will be paying $7.99 per month. So, if you are desperate to get a blue tick, all you need to do is pay the set subscription fee and get more benefits.

Already, this new verification system has made an appearance on Twitter for iOS after the most recent app update. Android users will get the update to bring this feature after the US midterm elections. In the coming weeks, the blue tick will not only be exclusive to the top media personalities, politicians, sportsmen, etc, but accessible to everyone at a cost.
