Don Jazzy Tech Scholarship Launches With TS Academy

Mavin Records founder partners with TS Academy as the platform expands access to technology education, scholarships, and learning support.

Veteran music executive and Mavin Records founder Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has partnered with TS Academy to support young Africans seeking to build careers in software engineering, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data, product, and design, marking a new chapter in his work with young talent beyond entertainment.

After years of discovering and developing talent in music, Don Jazzy is now putting that experience behind a different kind of opportunity. Not every young person will find a career in music or entertainment, and the partnership creates another avenue for those who want to build a future in technology instead.

His decision to work with TS Academy comes down to how the academy has approached access. Its regular programmes carry tuition fees, but its scholarship initiatives support learners who may otherwise struggle to afford training — since its inception, TS Academy has awarded scholarships to more than 50,000 students across Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and other African countries. Through the Don Jazzy Tech Scholarship 2027, selected applicants will receive up to 100% tuition support, alongside an additional discount on application fees.

For students who secure a spot but don’t have the equipment to participate, the academy has also provided laptops and other learning devices, extending the support beyond tuition to the practical things that can stop someone from finishing what they started. That work continues past the classroom too, with mentorship, practical projects, internships and career support helping students gain experience and find opportunities to apply what they’ve learned.

Don Jazzy’s involvement will extend across these initiatives, supporting scholarships, device access, student empowerment programmes and key academy engagements as the partnership rolls out. The Don Jazzy Tech Scholarship will also include additional support for enrolled students, with 50 laptops and data support for 500 students available under the initiative. Both forms of support are limited and separate from the tuition scholarship.

“Music has been incredible to us, but not everyone can make music or movies. If entertainment is not your path, you should not be left stranded. What I saw in TS Academy was an organisation that understands the things that can stop people from getting started. If you do not have a laptop, they try to help. If you cannot afford tuition, there are scholarships. I want young people to have a fighting chance to succeed, and I want to put my weight behind that,” Don Jazzy said.
