Nigerian appointed to head Facebook’s Developer and Startup Programs

Chimdindu Aneke has assumed duty at Facebook in London as the manager of the social media giant’s Developer and Startup Programs. In his new capacity, Aneke will oversee growth and success of startups and developers in Sub-Saharan Africa.

In a statement, Aneke said together with the team, Facebook will continue to double efforts in supporting developers in the region through the Developer Circle Communities, Tech hubs, and Startup programs across SSA plus other initiatives.

“Africa is on a journey and has come really far. To be a player in the big wave coming to Africa, we need to be aware that the Journey is never finished. “We die here”,” he said.

Describing his one-week old experience at Facebook, Aneke said nothing is ever completely done; innovation and creativity should not have a dead-end, except you choose to make them so.

“Hence, the internal powerful slogan that drives Facebook employees and our work “The journey is only 1% finished.””
