At a time when the Nigerian ‘techosystem’ (tech+ecosystem) is seeing some growth and more interest from local and foreign investors, Venture Dialogues is hosting an investor ‘meet and greet’.
Venture Dialogues is a platform for education, collaboration and dissemination of investment opportunities tailored to meet the specific needs of African founders and entrepreneurs.
Specifically, Investors will be talking about these five things:
- an introduction into their fund
- at what stage of a company’s lifecycle (such as pre-seed, early stage, series A etc) they invest
- the sectors they focus on (such as Education, Healthcare, Energy, FinTech etc)
- what they look out for in founders and their respective companies
- the quality of deals they are seeing in the ecosystem
As a form of bonus, they will be sharing advice on what founders need to arm themselves with before seeking funding.
Already, reputable and active investors in the techosystem such as IFC, EchoVC, Singularity Investments, DiGame Investment, Microtraction, V8 Africa, Lagos Angels Network and Ventures Platform have confirmed their attendance.
This event will also be preceded by a masterclass on Startup Valuation organised in collaboration with Dekar Edge, a fin-tech company primarily dedicated to preparing startups for capital investment, and would be facilitated by Tobi Fatimilehin (CFA) and Bisade Karunwi. This masterclass is particularly helpful if you are looking to get a termsheet from an Investor. Some of the topics to be covered include pre-money and post-money valuation, growth capital and VC funding and how to get a better valuation.
