Application for the 2016 TechWomen program now open

Application for the 2016 TechWomen program is now open till February 1, 2016. The program is an initiative of the U.S Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and participants are selected based on the following eligibility requirements;

  • Be women who have at least two years full-time professional experience in the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • Have at least a bachelor’s degree/ a four year university degree or its equivalent
  • Be proficient in spoken and written English
  • Be eligible to obtain a U.S J-1 exchange visitor visa
  • Not hold U.S. citizenship or be a U.S. legal permanent resident
  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of Algeria, Cameroon, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Morocco, Nigeria, the Palestinian Territories, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan or Zimbabwe at the time of application, and while participating in the program

It should be noted that TechWomen encourages people with diverse backgrounds and skills to apply, including individuals with disabilities.

In addition, women committed to addressing concerns of global climate change and environmental issues are particularly encouraged to apply.
