Airtel unveils BlackBerry Z10 in Nigeria

Airtel Nigeria, has become the first operator in Nigeria to launch the latest BlackBerry Z10 smartphone that has enhanced features designed to work in long time evolution. Airtel unveiled the BBZ10, during a dinner at the Ikoyi Club, on 24 February 2013.

Olu Akanmu, chief marketing officer of Airtel Nigeria, said the unveil was in line with Airtel Nigeria’s drive for innovation and driving positive changes in the Nigerian telecoms industry.

Olu Akanmu also noted  that Airtel is the first Nigerian operator to introduced HD (High Definition) voice service in the country, and has bagged several awards ranging from the Most Cost Efficient Network, Network with the Best Quality, and Best Telecoms of the Year among many others

Airtel Customers who had pre-ordered for the device online and through its retail outlets across the country can now take delivery of the Smartphones at their preferred locations. Speaking at the Ikoyi Club, venue of the launch, Olu Akanmu, chief marketing officer, Airtel Nigeria said the telecoms company is delighted to be the first mobile operator in the country to move beyond the pre-ordering process to the commencement of actual sale and distribution of the BlackBerry Z10 device to Nigerians.

Customers who pre-ordered the device will get it for N100,000.
