Air Tanzania will soon start flying Nigeria

Air Tanzania indicates that the airline has moved a step closer to securing (direct) flight links to West Africa.

National carrier of East African country, Tanzania, Air Tanzania will soon include Nigeria on its travel route. This is according to a statement by the Tanzania High Commission in Abuja, Nigeria and a report on Issue 16 of Twiga, the inflight magazine for Air Tanzania.

According to the digital publication, a meeting between H. E. Dr. Hamisu U. Takalmawa, High Commissioner of Nigeria to Tanzania and Eng. Ladislaus Matindi, Managing Director and Chief Executive of Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) indicates that the airline has moved a step closer to securing (direct) flight links to West Africa. The meeting was also reflective of Air Tanzanai’s desire to start flying to West African countries like Nigeria this year.

Meanwhile in Nigeria, the proposed national carrier is lingering over a law suit. Also, the aviation sector is in the throes of a nationwide strike by the Nigeria Aviation handling company (NAHCO). Staff of NAHCO have cited poor pay and abysmal welfare as reasons for their strike action. In the meantime, flights in and out of Nigeria are grounded as the management and staff of NAHCO reach a resolution.
